Cross-stitch on Wood
Bespoke items! If you have a specific wood or color, I’ll do my best to accommodate. Light-colored designs pop better on dark wood, and darker designs look great on lighter wood. Occasional spalted or textured wood is available.
CLASS KITS: For my “Cross-stitch on Wood” class, each kit comes with 1 small and 1 medium blank, instructions, and embroidery floss. **Extras, or outside of class, blanks are sold without floss**

The Wyrmling Inkle Loom – $95*
The Wyrmling is a 3/4 sized Inkle Loom – 9 stationary pegs (1 for band-weaving heddles), and 1 adjustable tension peg (not shown).
Details: 20″ long, 9″ high. Suggested warping path engraved above each peg for the maximum warp length. Maple body, oak pegs; sealed wood.

A Wyrm is a European serpentine dragon, sometimes depicted as having no, two, four, or more legs. It tends to refer to something long and coiling, often around some sort of treasure. The suffix “-ling” refers to something young or small. Thus a small, serpentine coiling of warp that turns into something precious.
The Lindwyrm / Monster Loom – $347-$433*
The Lindwyrm, or Monster Loom, is a large floor Inkle Loom with 22 stationary pegs (1 for band-weaving heddles), and 2 adjustable tension pegs. The tension pegs can either be set as on the photos, with one on the “neck” and one on the 2nd “leg”, or with one each on the 1st and 3rd legs.

The Lindwyrm (or lindworm, lindwurm, etc.) is a serpentine dragon creature of European folklore. Legends vary – some say it had no legs, others two, yet others two legs and two wings, while others just two wings. They all seem to agree that it is a long serpentine creature, and the name refers to snake, something coiled, soft, and agile, often brooding over something of great treasure. So it seems only fitting that thread warped over, under, and around, turning something soft into treasure, should be a Lindwyrm.
The Wood Wyrm
