Scroll Saw: Cross Stitched Wood

Done as an experiment to see how close I could drill holes together on wood before it would fail, in order to make a cross-stitched design on the wood surface. Working up more designs and shapes now for a future class.

The buckeye burl North Dakota shape with the blue heart was the first – the backing also buckeye burl. Ended up being a little thick, and difficult to see the wood laser-etched into the back. Tried again with thin birch plywood backing on the hearts, and liked the end result much better.
